INFANTS
Infants at Blast Learning Academy thrive in an environment of gentle, nurturing care provided by early childhood educators trained to meet their emotional and developmental needs. Our teachers maintain open communication with parents through both written updates and verbal exchanges, ensuring transparency and consistency between home and school environments. Each child is cherished as a unique individual on their own path of growth and learning.

TODDLERS
At Blast Learning Academy, we recognize toddlers as active sensorimotor learners, engaging all their senses, exploring their surroundings, and manipulating objects to understand their world. As they transition from infancy to preschool, toddlers are eager to assert their independence and develop crucial skills in communication and mobility.

Our teachers support toddlers in their quest for independence, offering a nurturing hand whenever needed. Toddlers enjoy a variety of engaging activities throughout the day, encouraging curiosity and happiness. Teachers in our toddler classrooms encourage children to explore and try new things independently, intervening only when necessary.

A key focus in our program is fostering toddlers' communication skills. Teachers assist children in expressing themselves and communicating with both adults and peers, helping to build their vocabulary and language skills. Establishing responsive and respectful relationships is fundamental to achieving important developmental milestones during this critical stage.

PRESCHOOL
As toddlers transition into our preschool program, they embark on a journey of expanded skills and developmental growth. They focus on enhancing their language abilities, navigating social relationships, and gaining confidence in their physical independence—all while embracing a love for learning that permeates our classrooms. Our curriculum emphasizes literacy and math through engaging, play-based activities.

We support children in articulating feelings and resolving conflicts using words. Our environment features child-sized furniture and equipment, including sinks and toilets, to foster physical independence. Children are encouraged to take on tasks independently, promoting their sense of accomplishment and self-reliance.
In our preschool program, children further develop their communication skills and begin to independently navigate friendships. They benefit from a variety of engaging play options that are both stimulating and challenging. Circle times include storytelling, singing, and discussions, while pre-math and pre-literacy activities are integrated into daily routines. Role-playing activities stimulate imagination, and free play allows children to construct their own activities either independently or collaboratively with peers.

Teachers play a pivotal role in facilitating communication, guiding sharing and cooperation, and encouraging independence in daily tasks such as toileting, dressing, and self-feeding. Each child's unique personality and temperament are respected with affection, sensitivity, and responsiveness, nurturing positive self-esteem crucial for ongoing learning and development.
PRE-K
At Blast Learning Academy, our Pre-Kindergarten program fosters learning through engaging, developmentally appropriate play-based activities designed to enhance cognitive, social, and emotional growth. Tailored lesson plans reflect children’s interests and encourage exploration, while teachers focus on building foundational pre-literacy and pre-math skills through interactive play.

At four years old, children are gaining a stronger sense of self, including their abilities and preferences. They are becoming more articulate and skilled in movement, ready to participate in diverse activities, discussions, relationships, and challenges. In our program, children learn cooperative play, problem-solving through dialogue, and develop self-reliance and confidence in the classroom setting. Teachers support social growth by promoting active listening, empathy, and effective communication of needs. Problem-solving strategies, including negotiation, are taught through role-play and constructive feedback throughout the day, nurturing creativity and community building.

Pre-Kindergarteners at Blast Learning Academy are encouraged to independently choose their play activities within organized learning centers, each focusing on areas such as art/writing, manipulatives, dramatic play, quiet reading, computers, and science. Our environment is structured to provide stimulating choices and simultaneous engagement in various activities, promoting group interaction and opportunities for quiet personal exploration. All areas are thoughtfully designed to optimize play and ensure easy supervision by teachers, fostering a balanced blend of collaborative and independent play experiences.
